Our People
Richard and Julian have known each other since their teenage years, long before founding Sterling together. They went on to work alongside one another at Colliers International for five years, forging a professional and personal relationship built on shared values and a deep mutual understanding. These principles sit at the core of everything Sterling does, underpinning the trust and cohesion that have driven performance across every project the firm has undertaken.
That foundation has also enabled Richard and Julian to cultivate strong relationships with many of London’s leading professional practices across the industry, as well as a broad network of institutional and overseas joint venture partners.
Richard Silver
Richard began his real estate career in 2009 against the backdrop of the global financial crisis, joining Hatton Real Estate and rising to partner. In 2016, Hatton was acquired by Colliers International, where Richard served as a director within the City Fringe for five years before departing in 2020 to found Sterling. Across his eleven years in agency, he advised an array of institutional and private clients on numerous high-profile leasing and investment transactions, building a network that spans all sectors and disciplines of the property industry and beyond.
This grounding in agency gives Richard an invaluable understanding of building quality, occupational necessities and what landlords must deliver to drive value and unlock efficiencies across an asset.
Julian Meir
Julian began his real estate career in 2017 at Colliers International, initially working in loan security valuation before joining the investment team focused on the City Fringe in 2018. Over the following four years, he played an integral role in building the platform into a leading investment agency, advising across a broad range of assets throughout the sub-market.
During this time, Julian worked with an array of institutional and private clients, developing a deep understanding of investor appetite, asset positioning and the importance of creating the right type of product to extract maximum value. In 2021, Julian left his role to found Sterling with Richard.
Julian is a fully qualified member of the RICS and holds a first-class degree in real estate management from Oxford Brookes University.
