Essential to the fabric of Camden’s social scene, The Camden Assembly – which has gone by a number of different names over the years – has been known for live music since the 1980s. Its 400-capacity event space has played host to Oasis, Coldplay, Amy Winehouse and The XX. It remains one of only three event venues in Camden with a late licence.
Acquired in 2023 as a long-term income asset, the building had previously undergone a sympathetic renovation in 2016, updating a zebra-striped exterior with a classic dark-green finish, Victorian-style tiles and a decorative figurehead over the door. This restored a sense of its original character and brought it more in keeping with the historic buildings of the surrounding neighbourhood.
Sitting at the corner of Chalk Farm Road and Ferdinand Street, The Camden Assembly is as much a part of Camden as the market or the canal. This enviable location places it at the heart of Camden’s famed nightlife, just moments away from other iconic venues like KOKO, Roundhouse and Electric Ballroom.
